Q&A

1. How do I transition my dog to raw?

Use the following instructions based on your dog's weight.

2. How much raw should I feed my dog per day?

The daily portions will be based on whether your dog is a puppy or an adult dog.

The instructions recommend:

5% - 8% of total body weight per day (not per feeding) for a Puppy (2 months – 1 Year).

2.5% of body weight daily (not per feeding) to maintain optimal weight.
2% in order to lose weight
3% in order to increase weight for an Adult ( 1 Year – Older).

3. What if my dog doesn’t eat it right away?

Leave the food out for 10 minutes to see if your dog will engage. If it doesn’t, put the food in the fridge and try again at the next meal.

4. Should I feed more than one protein?

Start off on one protein. Eventually, after a couple of weeks, a variety of proteins might prevent your dog 'getting bored'.  We recommend alternating 3 different proteins

5. Why does my dog still seem hungry?

Dogs digest raw differently than kibble, and are able to metabolize it faster. This means they are keeping all the nutrients in their system, and only eliminating what they don’t need (this is why the stool of a raw-fed dog is so small). You can give your dog healthy snacks if they seem to want something more before their next meal.

6. Can I cook the raw?

No, never cook raw food. The bones (calcium) will become brittle and can pierce your dog’s stomach.

7. How do I thaw out raw food?

Put the food in a container in the fridge over night/through the day. Never heat it up.
